METHI MATHRI

Snacks time again.....another snack to accompany those awesome tea time. Hope you would like it.                                    




INGREDIENTS:
  • Kasuri meithi - 2 tbsp (crushed)
  • Black pepper - 1tsp (crushed)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Turmeric - 1/3 tsp
  • Carom seeds ( ajwain)- 1/2 tsp
  • All purpose flour - 1 1/2 cup
  • Melted ghee (clarified butter) or oil - 1/2 cup
  • Oil - for deep frying
METHOD:

  • First take big bowl sieve all purpose flour( maida). Add salt, ajwain, kasuri maithi, turmeric powder and black pepper. Mix all the ingredient very well.
  • Now add ghee mix it well when it look crumbly add water little by little make a hard dough. Cover it and let it rest for 10 to 15 min.
                               

  • divide the dough in to equal balls and flatten them slightly. Prick with the fork.
                                       

  • heat oil in a kadai deep fry on medium flame till golden brown in color. Keep flipping in between to ensure even frying on all sides.
                                     

  • Take out on absorbent paper. Let is cool completely .
  • Meithi mathri is ready to serve with tea or pickle. Eating these with dry mango pickle is really a great combination...do try that.
  • You can store these for around a month in air tight container.
